"All that is needed for the forces of evil to succeed is for enough good men and women to remain silent". A profound thought - we have to ACT! - ALSO:
"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."
- Benjamin Franklin & finally "Nature has many friends, but sadly, is scarce of lovers." - so true!

Myanmar's despot military leaders cannot be allowed to persist - and they can't if countries like China, the oil companies like Chevron, etc resolved to cease propping up this rotten regime. Watching a human disaster develop is not an option the World community should tolerate.
It's time to act and that doesn't mean handing (as suggested by the rotten Myanmar regime)aid to the cronies of the military to feed their mates!

500 birds land on a Canadian tailings pond and die a lingering death - and this is "progress"?
One of Canada's major companies poisoning our environment to that extent - is this the best they can do? What a disaster and all preventable!
Mankind has really got to do a hell of a lot better! Otherwise it's the birds dying today mankind (yes you, me, the kids) tomorrow!

The economics of sustainable energy options are clearly becoming evident. As technologies develop, sustainability will become the only real option for a whole raft of reasons.
If we are to have a future sustainability is a must.

As the scarcity of metals starts to bite we must reconsider what we waste. This article shows clearly how we can not only curb waste but also adopt a real attitude to sustainability. Planet Earth can cater for our needs if we simply learn some very basic lessons.

Corruption and crazy dictators in Myanmar (old Burma) stand and watch as people die!
nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm [nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm]
China is allowing its relationship with despot, crazed leaders in Myanmar to help frustrate the World community to feed destitute millions! Please read the above article to see the sheer scale of the crime being perpetuated right under our very noses!
The World community, I believe, must act decisively - at a certain point it is equally a crime for us all to sit and watch the Mugabe's of this World, the Sudanese government and the corrupt Generals of Myanmar to practise genocide. We must identify the regimes and systems allowing these regimes to continue (like the oil companies in Myanmar!) and cut off these supply lines. China is an arch culprit - it is propping up Mugabe (the arms ship proved that), the Generals and is supplying arms to the Sudanese to kill the poor souls in Darfur.
Hang your heads in shame China!

At a time when China is heralding to the World how progressive it is let the public be aware of the abusive and unenlightened China.
Bear bile farms are in abundance in China and the torture they impose on these poor animals is horrific.
You won't hear mention of this in the Olympic hype will you?
China clearly has a very selective morality!
